Hike through Dundas Valley and enjoy the breathtaking views from Dundas Peak

The Ancaster Mill is a historic landmark and fine-dining restaurant located in Ancaster, Ontario.  The site dates back to the 19th century and was once a flour mill, now carefully restored to preserve its heritage charm.                                        

Dundas Valley in Hamilton, Ontario, is a beautiful conservation area known for its lush forests, rolling hills, and over 40 km of scenic trails. Highlights include the famous Dundas Peak, offering panoramic views, as well as historic sites like the Hermitage Ruins. It’s a popular spot for hiking, cycling, birdwatching, and enjoying nature year-round. 

In this event, our outdoor leader will guide you through the historic mill area, where you can enjoy the man-made waterfall, then hike along the Bruce Trail through Dundas Valley, and finish with the breathtaking view from Dundas Peak. 🌿🏞️

Event arrangement:

Date and Time: September 13th, 2025, Saturday, 9:00 AM – 14:00 PM

Location: Dundas Valley Conservation Area

Fees:

  • Free for members (New members can register and start using it right away)
  •  Non-members: $10/person, $20/family (e-transfer: [email protected])

Transportation:

 Self-drive or carpooling is encouraged; suggested carpool fee: $10 per person.

Other Costs:

Any fees for park entry or parking will be at your own expense.

Age Requirement: 10-60 years old; minors under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Meeting Time: September 13th, Saturday, 9:00 AM 

Meeting Location: To be informed after registration.

Hiking Distance: Approximately 15 kilometers

Difficulty Level: AB route, Level B. Suitable for individuals who have a moderate level of fitness, are comfortable with longer walks, and can handle some uneven terrain or gentle inclines.

Outdoor Clothing Requirements: Lightweight outdoor clothing (Long-sleeved shirt and pants), Hiking boots or closed-toed shoes that can prevent from slipping (no high heels, sandals, or flip-flops allowed), Hat

Outdoor Gear Requirements:

  • Backpack
  • Hiking poles (at least one)
  • Insect repellent
  • Sunscreen

Other:

  • Please bring your own lunch, snacks, and drinking water.
